Back to Account & Sync

Creating and managing your account

Sign in with Apple, what happens when you have existing data, and how to delete your account.

PolyPod uses Sign in with Apple — there’s no email/password login. Your account enables cloud sync (Premium) and lets you restore your data on a new device.

Signing in

Tap Sign In from the welcome screen and follow the Apple Sign-In prompt. You can choose to share or hide your email address — your Apple ID credentials are never shared with PolyPod.

Sign-in requires an internet connection. If you’re offline, the button is disabled. If Apple Sign-In fails for any reason other than you cancelling, you’ll see a “Couldn’t sign in” alert.

Continuing as a guest

You can use PolyPod without an account by tapping Continue as Guest. Core features all work — you just won’t have access to cloud sync, AI recommendations, or other Premium features that require an account. A prompt in Profile and Settings will remind you to create one when you’re ready.

What happens if you already have data

When you sign in on a device that has local data, or your account has cloud data from another device, PolyPod detects the conflict and asks what to do:

Cloud data only — choose Restore my data to download from cloud, or Later to skip for now.

Local data only — choose Enable cloud sync to upload your local data to cloud, or Not now to keep it local.

Both exist — choose Use cloud data (your local data is deleted and replaced with cloud) or Use device data (local data is kept; your cloud data will be overwritten when sync is re-enabled).

Your profile

Tap the profile icon in the top-right corner of any main screen to open your profile. From there you can access Languages, Settings, Help & Support, About, and your Privacy Policy.

Signed-in users see their email address and member-since date. If you have a Premium subscription, your Customer ID is shown here — tap it to copy it, which is handy when contacting support.

Signing out

Tap Sign Out at the bottom of your profile. If you have local data after signing out, you’ll be taken to the guest screen. If not, you’ll be returned to the home screen.

Deleting your account

Tap Delete Account in your profile. You’ll see a confirmation listing everything that will be permanently deleted: listening history, saved podcasts and episodes, language progress, queue, and downloads. Confirm to delete — this removes all data from the server and the device immediately.

This action is irreversible. The app resets and shows the onboarding tour after deletion.

Switching devices

If you have Premium with cloud sync enabled, just sign in on your new device and your listening history, library, and settings will sync across automatically.
